Beautiful Camp Weed, near Live Oak, Florida, was the setting for a retreat held by the Strategic Planning Committee of the Duval County Democratic Executive Committee. At least two of us are active Sierra Club members and were able to present environmental concerns and have them accepted as goals or objectives as a vision for the future.

On a personal note, I enjoyed an early morning walk. Sad to admit, I decided not to tent camp because of heavy rains. I believe I helped protect the planet a little by driving to the retreat in my 2004 Prius, which gets a lot of attention (and admiration when I tell people that I am getting about 50 mpg!).
