Our yard is certified as a Backyard Wildlife Sanctuary by the Atlanta Audubon Society. Because it's a work in progress, I was doing some path work today -- spreading wood chips in walkways. My wife, Sandy, and I have been doing quite a bit of "yard work" lately, in preparation for a Backyard Wildlife Habitat tour that we are having next Sunday. The tour is sponsored by the Greater Gwinnett Group of the Sierra Club, to which we both belong. Donations made that day will benefit our Groups. More importantly, we hope to pass along to others how easy it is to provide essential habitat, shelter, food, and water for birds, butterflies, and other wildlife -- and in so doing -- Protect habitat and wildlife.
